What is Samvera?
Samvera is an open-source community with a mission to create digital data preservation solutions for libraries, museums, and other institutions.
These institutions adopt Samvera because of its flexibility and scalability. Because it’s community-driven, users have a voice in the future direction of the technologies used, resulting in a constantly growing list of features and improvements.
Notch8 and Samvera
Notch8 is Samvera Partner, meaning we have a formal commitment to code contribution and community participation. We joined the community in 2015 and have since collaborated on projects with Yale University, UCSD, UCLA, Washington University, Rutgers University, and many others. We offer several options to implement or assist in implementing digital asset management solutions, from developing complete applications to supplementing internal dev teams with additional resources and expertise.
Hyku Solution Bundle
Hyku is a solution bundle that gets institutions up and running on Samvera digital repositories, with the ability to customize theming and set up multiple discretely branded repositories within one instance. Hyku creates a viable platform for institutions with limited budgets and internal tech teams. Notch8 has been key to the development and improvement of Hyku through multiple pilot projects. We also offer a hosted, turnkey Hyku solution, HykuUP, with options for various collection sizes and operational budgets.
